An der Büchern und Regalen hat sich heute nichts verändert….aber auch no news is good news, nicht wahr ? Die Entscheidung über eine weitere Gabe von Stammzellen ist zunächst bis auf Ende nächster Woche vertagt worden um dem Virenmedikament und dem Knochenmark Zeit zu geben aktiv zu werden. Die erneute Gabe von Stammzellen des Spenders ist mit sehr hohen Risiken verbunden auf die ich zu dieser Zeit noch nicht näher eingehen möchte. Wir haben jetzt schon ‚zig Chemotherapien hinter uns gebracht so das wir uns doch von so einem blöden Virus hier wohl nicht ins Boxhorn jagen lassen !
Luka hat in dieser Woche zum ersten Male richtig Freunde ‚gemacht‘ und seit dem gleicht es auf der Station eher einem grossen Spielzimmer. Super natürlich das er sich nicht mehr als Patient sieht sondern eher als Schüler (zum Leidwesen der Krankenschwestern die immer auf der Suche nach ihm sind ;)) Das erleichtert mir die Zeit hier ungemein und man findet Spass daran zu sehen wie sich die Dinge entwickeln. Sehr lustig war heute das die ‚Jungs‘ heute vor den Teenager Mädels aus dem Schulraum geflohen sind. Es gab für die jungen Mädchen heute einen ‚Perrücken und Schminkkurs …..wie man in ‚dem Fall‘ so mit falschen Wimpern, Schminke, Mützen, Perrücken etc umgeht. Der Kommentar der Jungs: „Da sind wir lieber mal gegangen, die Mädchen wollten sich mal so richtig machen….nicht nur so einfach verkleiden……“
PS: Das Antibiotikum wurde heute abgesetzt, so konnten wir für 3 Stunden nach Hause ;))) doch good news !

No changes with regard to books and shelves….but no news is good news as well, isn’t it ?
The decision about whether to give more stemcells has been delayed until next week. First of all we would like to give the virustreatment and the bone marrow a chance to react and get active. The additional stemcell infusions is related to even higher risks than before that I do not want to comment on at this time. We have been dealing with two types of chemotreatment so I am sure we will be able to deal with a simple virus as well !
This week Luka did ‚make‘ some real friends for the first time and ever since it rather looks like a big playroom on the ward. Great since he does not feel as a patient anymore, rather as a schoolboy (and behaving like one….poor nurses they always have to look out for him ;)). This makes it much easier for me in here cause I really have fun watching the development ! Very funny today was the fact that the boys have been expelled from the schoolroom by the teenage girls. The girls had a dress-up and cosmetic class…about how to deal in ‚this case‘ with false eye lashes, wigs, caps, scarfes and so on.. The boys commented (I have to translate it): “ We rather left them alone, the girls wanted to make themselves real girls, you know, not just the usual dressing up…“
PS: The antibiotics have been stopped today, so we were able to spend 3 hours at home ;)))…there are the good news 😉
Nochmal ein ganz grosses Lob, wie ihr es immer schafft noch alles ins positive zu wenden. So mancher wäre verzweifelt aber auch an den eher schlechteren Tagen gibt es noch etwas positives zu vermelden.
Ich hoffe wirklich sehr, sehr und von ganzem Herzen das eure Hingabe in den letzten Monaten nun aber auch wirklich und endgültig belohnt wird und ihr um Krankenhäuser einen weiten Bogen machen könnt. Dies ist euch und besonders Luka wirklich zu gönnen und zu wünschen.
Macht weiter so wie bisher, ALLES WIRD GUT!

Ich muß mich da meiner „vor Schreiberin“ anschließen….ich bin sehr beeindruckt wie Ihr das alles meistert und ich hoffe von ganzen Herzen das das Bücherregal bald wieder gefüllt ist!!!!
How lovely to see Luka having some fun time with a friend – and the chance for you to sit back and watch.
I can hardly imagine how you feel at the prospect of more stem cells so let’s pray it doesn’t come to that. Please please please God let Luka get really strong over the next week and put these hospital days behind him. Amen!
